Hair Shampoo Products
The kind of shampoo products you use are very important to the health of your hair. This is especially the case if you are someone who has color-treated hair, permed hair, or heat styled hair. The last thing you want to do is grab the first cheap shampoo you see and throw it into your cart. While there are great inexpensive shampoos and conditioners out there it is important to make sure they are right for your hair type.
Normal hair is not dry or oily. It is in good condition and has no special problems like split ends or brittle strands. To avoid stripping your hair's natural oils do not choose a shampoo and conditioner for oily hair. To avoid over-moisturizing which can leave hair flat, steer clear of products made for dry hair. Instead, look for those shampoos and conditioners that state on the packaging they are made for normal hair. If your hair doesn't require frequent or heavy scrubbing consider baby shampoo, which is a mild yet effective cleanser for normal hair.
Dry hair is just that -- dry and brittle. It may be prone to breakage and split ends. The texture of dry hair may be like straw. If this describes your hair you need a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner made for dry hair. Often hair that is dry is damaged also. A weekly deep conditioner can help revitalize stressed strands. If your dry hair is coarse and tangles easily, a leave in conditioner or spray detangler applied after shampoo and daily conditioner can make a big difference.
Oily hair is often limp and flat due to the excess sebum produced by the scalp. It may have a greasy appearance and look dirty even when it's not. Look for products made for oily hair like clarifying shampoos and very light conditioners. You may even want to apply a light conditioner to ends only and leave it off the rest of your hair. Dry shampoo can be helpful in fluffing oily strands, and there are even hair powders as well that absorb oil and add a nice fragrance. If none of the above descriptions sound like your hair, it may be combination.
Hair shampoo products for combination tresses work to cleanse and nourish while balancing your hair type. Often combination hair is oily at the roots and dry at the ends. One of the best drugstore brand products for combination hair available right now is Cleanse and Mend by Aussie. This product comes in both shampoo and conditioner, smells like fresh oranges and is perfect for combination hair. This nationally known affordable hair care brand also makes products and stylers for dry and oily hair.
